“The way the Sun heats our atmosphere, in combination with the Earth’s shape and rotational motion, constitute natural phenomena that subject our planet to powerful storms. As a result, out on the ocean the rising winds initiate the sea waves”
(back cover of Discovering the Essence of Surfing).

Dear English-speaking Friends,

I would like to let you know that my latest two books have been officially launched.

I address the teaching of surfing from a maritime educational perspective. I believe that acquainting with the surf and its dynamic elements is paramount for environmental taming and, therefore, towards the ability to solely focus one’s attention on the wave and its possibilities.

While Discovering the Essence of Surfing presents a brief review over my original research for grown ups, Praia Colorida, Colorful Beach is a Portuguese-English funny book that focuses on 3-to-5 year olds, presenting them with a list of beach ‘characters’ that they are welcome to color.

Thank you all, take care and, please, remember: be sure you know what to do in case you lose your board!

If you want to approach surfing from an organic perspective, you’d better check this out!
